Dave McDaniel has more than 30 years’ experience in consulting, with a focus on executive compensation and organizational effectiveness. He’s advised the boards of over 100 companies and provided solutions across the full spectrum of executive compensation disciplines including total compensation plan design, short- and long-term incentive plans and executive benefits plans. He’s worked with executive leadership on organizational design strategies, managerial selection and placement and tactics for management motivation. Dave is particularly experienced in compensation program design and working with organizations undergoing significant change; for example, those experiencing mergers, acquisitions or IPOs. He is known for providing trusted counsel around issues involving tax and accounting issues, regulatory or shareholder litigation and highly sensitive scenarios and has been called on to provide counsel to other consultants/consulting firms in these areas as well.
Dave started his career as a tax accountant, later transitioning to executive benefits consulting. He then spent 18 years in a variety of roles for two international compensation consulting firms, the last culminating in leadership of the firm’s US business and a staff of over 500 employees.
Dave is a frequent speaker on executive compensation and organizational effectiveness and a nationally recognized authority on board/management relations and the responsibilities of the board compensation committee. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a JD from Florida State University.
